Smoked Salmon Lox by Pound

I was at the NetCost Market yesterday and while I was checking out the seafood section, I stumbled upon these pre-packed containers of smoked salmon lox. Low price of just $1.39 per pound [$1.60 per whole container] attracted me to buy it and give it a try. I was fully prepared that these salmon slices would be total rotten crap, and that I would probably throw them out, but after taking a small bite out of slice, it tasted not bad. I downed the first slice and then 3 more with some Portugese bread. The lighter, pink slices taste much better than darker ones and they don't really have off-putting flavor or smell to them, and I found that this salmon was generally enjoyable. I'd rather prefer that all slices be pinkish, but for $1.60 you get what you get, and you can throw it out if you don't like it.  Its not "Grade A" smoked salmon, but for such low price its practically a steal; an excellent value! I will definitely buy more of these pre-packed containers in the future.

Mom's Compote

Mom made this tasty compote out of water, sugar, apples, plums, raspberries and blueberries.

Hormel Real Bacon Bits

Bought several jars of these real bacon bits, that taste great [if not a bit salty] by themselves as a snacks. They were on clearance for $1.00 at the local Walgreens, so I had to get them all.

Costco's Sample of Tyson Buffalo Style Bites

Nice and juicy Buffalo style bites that were handed out over at Costco couple of weeks ago. Too bad that they were not on sale, because I would've bought them, but only on sale.

A decent slice of pizza after I microwaved it back at home.

Dolce Tuscano Mini Custard Filled Iced Eclairs

Found these frozen eclairs at the Deals store for $1.00. They are stored in the freezer and about 30 minutes is needed to thaw the eclairs to edible temperature, where cream is soft and tasty. Qualitywise, the eclairs are pretty much like any other ones that you can find at the local supermarket in a 40, 60, 80 or even 90-count plastic tub. Last time I checked on this product, it was all sold-out/out-of-stock.

Slice of Pizza #9 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

Don't remember where I got it, but it was okay. Nothing special, but not bad. I ate it all and have nothing good or bad to say about other than I liked it.

Slice of Pizza #8 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

Don't remember where I got this slice, but it was my 3rd most favorite from the bunch. Its a classic cheese pizza slice that tasted enjoyable in all the ways [cheese, sauce and dough/crust]. The slice was a standard NYC 9-incher that was very well-done.

Slice of Pizza #7 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

Don't remember where I got it but this slice was pretty dry and had way too little cheese on it. I ate the most of it and threw out the crust.

Slice of Pizza #6 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

Don't remember where I got it but this slice was very breadsy and unbalanced in terms of ingredients: way too much bread [dryish dough] with thin layer of sauce and a even less of cheese. Way too little cheese. They also sprinkled-on some green/basil bits. I took one bite out of it and ate the rest the next day after I heated it in the oven. I did not enjoyed this square slice.

Slice of Pizza #5 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

I don't remember where I got it but this white-green slice was pretty awful to eat: I only took 3 bites out of it before I tossed it into the trash bin. This was the only unpleasant slice from the bunch.

Slice of Pizza #4 [Di Fara's] from Slice Out Hunger 2014

Di Fara's Pizza - I was prepared to be blown away by this slice, but it turned out to be a dud! Nothing special about this slice or any of its ingredients. Small slice was much more oiler than the rest and the basil overpowered the rest of the ingredients, which made it difficult for me to compare it to other slices, but I can say that I'm glad that I only paid $1.00 for it and did not had to try it at their pizza place for $5.00. This slice is one-and-done for me!

Slice of Pizza #3 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

I also don't remember where I got this slice, but it [cheese] was pretty rubbery and had okay sauce and dough. Nothing special, but I did not enjoyed the rubbery cheese that much.

Slice of Pizza #2 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

I don't remember where I got this slice, but it was the best slice out of bunch; my #1 favorite slice from the 10. All I can say is it tasted like a party in my mouth. I never had a pizza that tasted so unique and tasty as this one.

Slice of Pizza #1 from Slice Out Hunger 2014

Fiore's Pizza - Great-tasting slice. 2nd favorite from the bunch. For some reason it doesn't taste this good when I stop by their pizza place. Maybe it so tasty because it soaks-up the aromas from all the other pizzas?
